The icons did meet my original intentions but I don’t think they are professional quality as they look more cartoony or like something from a comic book, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but you probably wouldn’t see them on an actual iPhone.

Digital Icons - iPhone
So after my five icons were complete i just dragged them onto this blank iPhone. I think they turned out alright.
Digital Icons - final designs
When i chose which icons i liked the best, i scanned them and used Photoshop to add colour and effects, such as bevel & emboss and drop shadow.
As these icons are supposed to be for an iPhone, i wanted to make them stand out with bright colours and a striking image. I tried to make each icon so that you can easily tell which genre is which.

Digital Icons - original ideas
For this project i had to create 5 icons that could be used as applications on the iPhone for example. Each icon had to be based on a different genre (horror, comedy, sci-fi, war and fantasy). Below are some of the original sketches i drew.
For fantasy, i thought of swords and sorcery, dragons and things like that.
Sci-fi makes me think of space, future, aliens, light sabers etc...
Horros is quite obvious, ghosts, vampires, zombies, screams and maniac weapons!
War is an easy one, soldiers, dog tags, grenades, explosions, guns and all that.
Comedy i thought was quite hard as clowns and laughing are the only ones i could think of to actually draw.
After drawing five possible icons for each genre, i chose one from each which i thought was the best suited to the genres.

Takeshi Kitano Box Set & Game!
We had to choose a product to advertise and make a game about using Adobe Flash. I chose a box set containing 6 films of the legendary Japanese film maker Takeshi Kitano. I have included info about all 6 films and have made a first person shooter game with 3 levels to choose from! Enjoy...
Click here for the 'Takeshi Kitano Game & Box Set Information'
(The game is slightly flawed though and if the mouse pointer disappears at the end of a level just right click)... I hope you find it interesting and fun! :3
One other thing... I urge you to buy this box set!!!

E4 Ident - A Flash Animation
This is a flash animation i made as an ident to advertise the TV channel 'E4'. I used Adobe FlashCS3 Proffetional to create this.
It's kind of based on a scene from a Japanese gangster film called 'Dead or Alive', which i urge you to see if you don't have a weak stomach! :O

Final Comic Strip!
This is my final comic design. I came up with the story while watching this thing on TV where this guy was showing all these different animals he finds on the side of the road and eats! It was quite disgusting but i merged that idea with Beavis & Butt-Head and added the type of dialogue they would say. I was also watching alot of episodes at the time for inpiration...
I made this comic using Adobe Photoshop CS3, with downloaded speech bubbles and 'Comic Sans' font. For the backgrounds/environments i took screenshots of some episodes and used them for inspiration.
This comic is appropriate for my intended audience of teens and young adults who like crude and funny humour! I just hope i pulled it off and make people laugh with this comic.
I didn't really hyave any problems making this comic except for the level of detail i tried to put in. I wanted to make it look as close to a Beavis & Butt-Head cartoon as i could and i think it turned out well. As for time, i finished within the limit and managed my time appropriately so i wouldn't get to stressed or anything.
If i were to make this again i can't think of anything i would do differenly. I've shown people this comic and i've had very good responses so far! Everyone seems to like it and i'm really pleased with that.
Another thing... check out the Mike Judge DVD collection! I highly recommend it... ;)

Graphic Narrative - Evaluation
For my graphic narrative i decided to make a 'Beavis & Butt-Head ' one because i'm a big fan of the cartoon and though i could make something funny! Here's some early sketches and ideas i had for the story...
These are some practice sketches of (mainly) Butt-Head. I kept drawing him over and over to get the hang of it.
Below is the storyboard i drew which plans the whole story. Everything you see here is what ended up in my final comic.
Here's a basic plot outline showing the thre stages (start, middle, end)...
This plot outline differs slighlty to my original version, which featured a woman losing her dog and Beavis & Butt-Head ended up eating it by accident! Pretty gruesome stuff but i only changed it because i would have had to make an extra 4 or 5 frames for the comic and i don't think i could have done it.
